All of my pottery is handcrafted in small batches with care in my tiny studio in historic downtown Newnan, Georgia. I believe it’s important make ordinary days special, so I create pieces that can be used everyday that are beautiful, functional and lasting.

My Sea Turtle collection is by far my most popular. Hatchings must survive the most difficult of starts, overcoming treacherous obstacles, but those who survive the odds live long adventurous lives. Sea Turtles represent perseverance, resilience, wisdom and strength and they live with joy and grace even when life is difficult. My small dishes are around my home to remind me that even life’s most difficult journeys can lead to beautiful destinations.
The Process
Pottery is an art in patience. The process has many steps and a lot of waiting between them. Each piece begins with stoneware clay that is shaped, formed or wheel thrown in my private studio. Then many have surface designs in either slip trailing, carving or adding 3 dimensional forms like my sea turtles. Next, the pieces are left to dry slowly to avoid cracks. Once they are bone dry, they go through their first firing in my electric kiln for around 15-17 hours. They cool for 30 hours before I unload the kiln. Now it is time for the glazing and decoration of the pieces using hand brushed and layered glazes to create the desired look. Then they are fired again for about 9 hours and left to cool until room temperature before they can be unloaded. Finally, the bottom of each piece is sanded smooth to protect your furniture.
What we do
An empty nest forced me to face the reality that I am no longer who I once was. I grieve the time that went by too quickly and I had to rediscover myself. What will I do now? What is my purpose? And that is how this all began. This hobby that brought so much healing has now brought me a new found purpose. I meet new people at markets, share my faith and my story and help bring a joyful reminder of a God who loves them one little pot at a time.
